CCNL 1 | LEADERSHIP |Personal Leadership, Executive Leaderhsip, and  Board Governance

The course is designed to provide the leader of a nonprofit organization with an executive-level view of what is required for God-honoring personal, organizational, and board leadership. This module creates a roadmap that elevates a leader's thinking about the role of executive Leadership and how senior leaders influence others, the organization, the board, and those the organization exists to serve. This course is required for all those participating in the CCNL program and earns 20 poiont.

Learning Objectives
  1. Explore the greatest leadership role model, the transformational leadership cycle, how to develop your personal leadership mission statement, and guard your heart
  2. Learn how to define success and put into practice steward leadership responsibilities for Christ-centered Kingdom outcomes.
  3. Understand the core competencies of a leader and how to develop them
  4. Review the core framework necessary to be in place for nonprofit board governance
  5. Understand the CEO's relationship to the board in leading and maximizing board effectiveness
Requirements for Credit
  1. Successful completion and submission of five Reflection assignments demonstrating that the participant has read the required resources and reviewed the presentation content.
  2. Engage in all the topic forum discussions for all five sessions.

  2. All other reading materials will be available to the participant via links and downloadable PDFs from within the online module, once it begins.

Faculty: Tami Heim, CCNL, President and CEO, Christian Leadership Alliance

Tami Heim has been the president and CEO of Christian Leadership Alliance, headquartered in San Clemente, CA, since January 2012. Her professional career includes executive leadership experience in the technology, marketing, publishing, and retail industries. She has served as a partner at The A Group – Brand Development, as executive vice president and chief publishing officer at Thomas Nelson Publishers, and as president of Borders, Inc. 

Her board experience includes serving on the nonprofit boards of EQUIP, Lead Like Jesus, Christian Alliance for Orphans, Growing Leaders, Christianity Today, NAE, Best Christian Workplace, The Naivgators, and Christian Leadership Alliance.
