CCNL2 | STEWARDSHIP | FAITHFUL CARE OF MINISTRY RESOURCES

The 10-week course is designed to provide the leader of a nonprofit organization with an executive-level view of what is required for the God-honoring stewardship of finance, tax, legal, and people management and care. The attention to these foundational aspects of leading a ministry well is essential to establishing excellence and transparency. This course is required for all CCNL program participants and is highly recommended for all executive directors, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Human Resource Executives. (Two sessions in Financial Management; one session in Tax & Legal; two sessions in People Management & Care)

Learning Objectives
  1. Learn the fundamentals of internal controls, policies, and procedures that help a ministry leader better steward its finances.
  2. Comprehend the budget and financial reporting process and how it is an integral part of financial stewardship.
  3. Review the significance of liability, employment laws, and tax compliance in an organization and why the proper counsel can be the difference maker.
  4. Understand why the stewardship of talent acquisition, employee performance management, team development, and leadership alignment are foundational for a Christ-centered organization.
  5. Develop a working knowledge of human resource administration, compensation, benefits, legal compliance, and the value of solid employee communications, engagement, and satisfaction.
Requirement for Credit
  1. The completion and submission of five Reflection assignments demonstrate that the participant has read the required resources and reviewed the presentation content.
  2. Engage in all the topic forum discussions for all five sessions.

Faculty - Joelle Peelgren, Founder and Principal, DeGenaro Peelgren Associates

Joelle Peelgren's professional career has been dedicated to faith-based, not-for-profit organizations, serving 16 years with World Vision US and 16 years with English Language Institute/China. Her Master's work in Human Resource Leadership and Organizational Development from Azusa Pacific University has provided Joelle with a solid operational and theoretical understanding of organizational development, adult learning, and human resources. DeGenaro Peelgren Associates: Seven years ago, Jim and Joelle co-founded DeGenaro Peelgren Associates to provide consulting services to organizations – small and large – in the areas of organizational development, technology assessment and management, change management, interim executive positions, and human resources
